WELCOMING THE “SUMMER EQUINOX” IN FRONT OF THE SUN GATE IN THE VILLAGE OF BUZOVGRAD

In the village of Buzovgrad, near Kazanlak there is an interesting stone facility: a typical Eneolithic sanctuary (from the Copper Age) with an ancient astronomical observatory. It served as a tool to measure time, and it presented an opportunity for the creation of a calendar. The existing local tradition invites us to celebrate the summer equinox together.
