CULTIRAL HERITAGE

Cultural heritage is a collection of works by artists, architects, musicians, writers and sages of a city or community.

These cultural products include anonymous creations and values that give meaning to life, ie. tangible and intangible goods, where the creation of the inhabitants of this city or community is manifested.

Examples of these cultural values are language, rituals, beliefs, historical sites and monuments, literature, works of art and archives and libraries.

Intangible cultural heritage:

Cultural heritage is not limited to cultural monuments and collections of cultural values. It also includes the traditions and living forms of expression inherited from our ancestors and passed on to our descendants as oral traditions, performing arts, social customs, rites and celebrations, knowledge and customs relating to nature and the universe of knowledge and skills related to traditional crafts.

Intangible cultural heritage, passed down from generation to generation, is constantly recreated by communities and groups depending on their environment, their interaction with nature and history and forms a sense of identity and continuity. Fragile in nature, the intangible cultural heritage helps to promote respect for the cultural diversity and creativity of humanity.

The significance of the intangible cultural heritage is not the cultural manifestation itself, but a wealth of knowledge and skills that are passed down from generation to generation. The social and economic value of this transfer of knowledge is important for the minority and major social groups in a country and is important for both developing and developed countries.

"Preservation" means the application of measures to ensure the viability of the intangible cultural heritage, including its identification, documentation, research, preservation, presentation, promotion and transmission, primarily through formal and non-formal education, and the restoration of various aspects of that heritage.
