TODOR’S DAY
This day, also called Horse Easter, “Crazy Friday” or “Lame Friday”, is associated with the health of horses.
Boys demonstrate their riding skills and their suitability for matrimony. Competitions are organized. Girls wash their hair to make it long and thick like the tail of a horse.
The day is also celebrated as a day of fertility. Young brides and their mothers-in-law participate together in a prayer ritual in the church.
